The International Academy of Columbus believes in using a variety of instructional methods to implement its curriculum. The language arts curriculum utilizes a balance of instructional support. This includes teacher led mini-lessons, guided small groups, and independent learning activities. The math curriculum also includes a range of instructional methods to help the student move from concrete understanding to abstract. These include hands-on activities, teacher led instruction, and opportunities for guided and independent practice. The Science and Social Studies curriculum includes a range of instructional methods to help support language development for many of the English Language Learners. This also include direct instruction, exploratory labs and learning activities, opportunities for independent practice and projects for application. ​
